Brazelton Touchpoints Center is hosting a free virtual conversation series, “Parenting While Black: Nurturing Legacy, Love, and Liberation,” throughout March and April. The series, intended for Black parents, will focus on mental health and wellness, acknowledging the unique pressures Black parents face while also offering concrete tools for self-care and emotional resilience. The schedule is as follows: 

Monday, March 10, 3:00-4:00 p.m. ET – “Building Futures – Black Parent Advocacy” 

Join Black Families Flourishing Lead Researcher Dr. Chrishana M. Lloyd and Chicago Public Schools Early Childhood Resource Specialist Dawn Hubbard for a conversation about how Black parental advocacy shows up in our community. 

Monday, March 24, 3:00-4:00 p.m. ET – “Black Parents and Black Mental Health” 

Speakers include Founder and Executive Director of MENtors Driving Change for Boys, Men, and Dads Deutron Kebebew and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Dr. Quenette Walton. 

Monday, April 7, 3:00-4:00 p.m. ET – Topic & speakers TBA
