For our new Family “Spotlight Connections” interview, we spoke with Nayibe Capellan, CEO of Programs for Parents and community leader in New Jersey, about the family, cultural, and community connections that have shaped her life as a Black American of Dominican descent and how she is fostering those connections with her son.
The Black Families Flourishing (BFF) Family Spotlight Connections interviews illustrate how Black families across the country are experiencing flourishing and how family legacies contribute to their well-being.
Nayibe reflected on the importance of multigenerational support and cultural identity in strengthening families. She also shared how community, entrepreneurship, and embracing the diversity of Black families have helped her family flourish and reflected on how her family includes more than blood relatives.
